If you use supplements as a truck driver, one problem you may run into is limited space in your backpack.
Carrying multiple supplement tubs can quickly become annoying. Before long, your bag is packed with tubs, containers and shaker bottles, leaving little room for the things you actually need during your shift.
Creatine, EAAs, fish oil, vitamins, electrolyte powders, protein — carrying multiple containers every day can feel full-on, especially when you already have food, drinks and work gear to carry in your bag as well.
I wanted to keep things as simple and as light as possible when it came to my backpack and what I carried.
Ironically, the solution didn’t come from a fitness store.
It came from being a dad.
How I Accidentally Solved the Problem
One day I noticed my baby’s formula dispenser sitting in the cupboard.
It’s designed to hold multiple servings of baby formula when you’re travelling.
I looked at it and thought…
“Why couldn’t this work for my supplements?”
So I gave it a try.
Instead of filling it with baby formula, I filled each compartment with my daily supplements.
Now I can carry my creatine, EAAs, electrolyte powder and other supplements in one compact container instead of carrying several large tubs everywhere I go.
It saves space, keeps everything organised and makes sticking to my routine much easier during long truck driving shifts.
Sometimes the best ideas don’t come from the fitness industry.
Sometimes they come from everyday life.
Why Organising Your Supplements Matters
When your supplements are easy to carry, you’re much more likely to actually use them.
If everything is already packed and ready to go, there’s one less excuse to skip them.
Good organisation also means:
– Less clutter in your truck.
– Less weight in your backpack.
– Faster to prepare each morning.
– Easier to stay consistent.
Other Ways to Store Supplements
The baby formula dispenser is just a funny idea I came up with that solved a problem for me, but there are other options too.
Some people prefer:
– Travel supplement organisers.
– Pill organisers.
– Small reusable containers.
– Zip-lock bags for powdered supplements.
The best option is the one you’ll use consistently.
My supplement organiser usually contains:
– Creatine
– EAAs or amino acids
– Electrolyte powder
– Fish oil capsules
– Daily vitamins
Combined with my cooler lunch bag and protein shaker, everything I need for the day fits neatly into my backpack.
Final Thoughts
You don’t always need expensive fitness gadgets to make life easier.
Sometimes the best solutions come from looking around your own home.
For me, a baby formula dispenser turned out to be one of the most convenient ways to organise my supplements while working long truck-driving shifts.
It might sound funny, but it’s working for me.
And if it helps another truck driver stay organised and consistent — or even gives them an idea for their own go-to way of carrying supplements — then sharing it has meaning.
